I just wanted to the take a moment to again the NYSDEA for selecting me as one of the two graduate students in the state to receive a scholarship to attend the National Dance Education Organization’s National Conference in Miami FL this past semester and announce and exciting conference that will be coming up this spring at NYU Steinhardt!

Join NYSDEA for its winter conference at NYU Steinhardt this March to explore the role of somatics and science in dance education. The theme for this year will focus on “Techniques for Self-Preservation,” including:
Understand and explore dance practice through the study of anatomy and kinesiology;
Integrate the study of dance science and dance pedagogy to promote safe and efficient movement patterns and sequencing;
Promote injury prevention strategies and learn injury management tools to develop and maintain healthy dance environments.
